You can't construct a home without bricks, so you can't build up your body without the correct nutrients. How will you know if your eating the right foods or the wrong foods, or if you're eating too much, or too little? Keeping a journal gives you the data you need. A simple notebook will be fine, because your nutrition journal doesn't have to be anything fancy or complicated. All you need to do to accomplish this is to jot down what you eating and when you eating it. Another thing you can do is keep track of your bodyweight, body fat percentage, muscle mass etc.
