All around the world, people are getting bigger and bigger. China, Japan and even Korea, who have never before had to worry about obesity, are now seeing the numbers on the scales rise higher and higher. It seems that nobody is safe from the ever expanding waistline. So what is making us so obese as a species? There answer is really just inadequate nutrition. Nutrition is something that we are severely lacking when it comes to what we eat, how much we eat and when we eat.Our ever-expanding girth should come as no surprise when fast food restaurants spring-up like weeds, individual serving sizes can feed at least two people and food quality has decreased. There is a solution, however, and it can only come from nutrition knowledge.
People are so obsessed with food and how food tastes now, and even how much they get of it, that they seem to forget that food is simply fuel for the body. We get the energy needed to get through the day from food. When we have too much fuel, it gets stored as fat. Fat is essential in the makeup of our body, it isn'ts our body's way of getting back at us for eating fatty foods. Fat has several important functions for our body. It is fat which provides us with heat when we are cold, also the insulation to our bones and internal organs and even to our muscles is provided by fat only. Excess calories get turned into fat when we eat too much, and we don't burn off those calories with exercise or everyday activities. These are nutritional considerations that we must take into account. Because of our daily eating habits, the body fat increases very fast.
Fat Sucks
Fat does not materialize from nowhere, obesity is something that we produce slowly over time if we are not cautious. They say that knowledge is power, but that is only true if you use it. Eating healthy, taking nutrition supplements and getting fit is the best way to combat obesity. Know your enemy and you will be able to overcome them. Don't stop gaining knowledge and use what you learn and you will be successful at whatever you do.
